LEGISLATIVE
U.S. Senate passes sweeping bill to address China tech threat
June 9, 202112:06 PM EDT
The U.S. Senate voted 68-32 on Tuesday to approve a sweeping package of legislation intended to boost the country's ability to compete with Chinese technology.
An indignant China responded to the vote by saying it objected to being cast as an "imaginary" U.S. enemy.
The desire for a hard line in dealings with China is one of the few bipartisan sentiments in the deeply divided U.S. Congress, which is narrowly controlled by President Joe Biden's fellow Democrats.
The measure authorizes about $190 billion for provisions to strengthen U.S. technology and research - and would separately approve spending $54 billion to increase U.S. production and research into semiconductors and telecommunications equipment, including $2 billion dedicated to chips used by automakers that have seen massive shortages and made significant production cuts.
China's parliament expressed "strong indignation and resolute opposition" to the bill. It said in a statement that the U.S. bill showed "paranoid delusion of wanting to be the only winner" and had distorted the
original spirit of innovation and competition.
"We firmly object to the United States seeing China as an imaginary enemy," Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters in Beijing.
The bill must pass the House of Representatives to be sent to the White House for Biden to sign into law. It is not clear what legislation in the House will look like or when it might take it up.

Some boxes are MISSING up to 20% of the ballots.
We may find that we have more questions than answers because of this.

2. Those dates are significant because they correspond directly to the dates the county and SOS were trying to correct the intentional computer problems that subverted the election. These logons appear to have escalated privileges at the time of logon. Again . . . REMOTELY
3. But we were told there was no internet connection. In an accredited system, an anonymous user should not be authorized by the accreditation authority, but would instead be required to enter a specific user name and password to utilize the system.
4. We were told there was no internet connection. We were told there was no remote access. We were told this was human error. All lies. This is fraud. This decertifies the Antrim County election. SOS Benson should resign or be impeached.

TRUMP
Trump Backs Nigeria Twitter Ban, Urges Other Countries To Follow Suit
JUN 09, 2021
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday praised the Nigerian government’s decision to block access to Twitter, and called on other countries to do the same.
Trump applauded the Nigerian government’s move to indefinitely suspend Twitter’s activities, two days after the social media giant removed a post by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari that threatened to punish regional secessionists in the West African country.
“Congratulations to the country of Nigeria, who just banned Twitter because they banned their President,” Trump said in a statement. “More COUNTRIES should ban Twitter and Facebook for not allowing free and open speech—all voices should be heard.”
“In the meantime, competitors will emerge and take hold,” Trump continued.
“Who are they to dictate good and evil if they themselves are evil?”
The former president suggested that the reason why he didn’t ban Facebook while he was in office was because Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg “kept calling me and coming to the White House for dinner telling me how great I was.”
“2024?” Trump added, teasing a potential presidential run.
The former president hosted Zuckerberg at the White House twice in 2019. Earlier this month, Trump again hinted at a possible run for the presidency while responding to the news that he’ll be banned from Facebook for two years, saying he won’t attend dinners requested by Zuckerberg “next time I’m in the White House.”
The former president has been banned from Facebook until 2023, and he has also been permanently removed from Twitter following the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
Nigeria’s Information Minister Lai Mohammed said the government had blocked Twitter access because of “the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.”

Fauci Pal Daszak Admits "Chinese Colleagues" Developing "Killer" Coronaviruses
JUN 09, 2021 - 08:23 AM
EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak – who collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology on research funded by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease – appears to boast about the manipulation of “killer” SARS-like coronaviruses carried out by his “colleagues in China” in a clip unearthed by The National Pulse.
Daszak made the admission at a 2016 forum discussing “emerging infectious diseases and the next pandemic,” which appears to be at odds with Fauci’s repeated denial of funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology
While describing how his organization sequences deadly viruses, Daszak describes the process of “insert[ing] spike proteins” into viruses to see if they can “bind to human cells” as being carried out by his “colleagues in China”:
The comments follow growing evidence that Fauci’s NIAID has deep financial and personnel ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology – and that Daszak’s EcoHealth alliance was one of the primary proxies funneling the money to the Chinese Communist Party lab.
Over a dozen research papers carried out under a $3.7 million National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) grant list the Wuhan Lab’s Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases Director Shi Zhengli as a co-author alongside Daszak. Shi has included these Fauci-backed grants on her resume.
The Wuhan lab has also listed the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as one of its “partners,” secretly erasing the mention in March 2021.

Lindsey Graham: Skeptics of Wuhan lab leak theory ‘were covering their ass’

A February 2020 statement signed by more than two dozen scientists that claimed the coronavirus naturally jumped from humans to animals was “orchestrated” to hurt then-President Donald Trump politically, Sen. Lindsey Graham charged Tuesday night.
“This is the Russia dossier all over again,” Graham (R-SC) told Fox News’ “Hannity.” “This stinks to high heaven. This is Lab-gate, China-gate, call it whatever you want to call it.”
Graham was referring to a message published in the British medical journal The Lancet that dismissed the theory that the virus accidentally leaked out of a virology lab in Wuhan, China.
“We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin … Conspiracy theories do nothing but create fear, rumors, and prejudice that jeopardize our global collaboration in the fight against this virus,” read the statement, which was signed by 27 scientists.
U.S. signs $1.2 bln deal for 1.7 mln courses of Merck's experimental COVID-19 drug
Merck & Co Inc (MRK.N) said on Wednesday the U.S. government has agreed to pay about $1.2 billion for 1.7 million courses of its experimental COVID-19 treatment, if it is proven to work in an ongoing large trial and authorized by U.S. regulators.
The oral antiviral treatment, molnupiravir, aims to stop COVID-19 from progressing and can be given early in the course of the disease, similar to Tamiflu to treat influenza.
The treatment course being tested in the trial is an oral dose given every 12 hours for five days.
Merck expects to have more than 10 million courses of the therapy available by the end of this year and said it was in discussions with other countries interested in advance purchase agreements for molnupiravir.
The company, which is developing the drug with Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, is assessing the treatment in a late-stage trial in non-hospitalized patients to see if it reduces the risk of hospitalization or death.
Data from the trial, which plans to enroll a total of 1,850 patients globally, are expected in the fall of 2021, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Other antiviral drugs also contending to be the first treatment aimed at the cause of COVID-19 include Pfizer Inc's (PFE.N) PF-07321332 and Roche Holding AG's (ROG.S) AT-527.
U.S. pharmacist jailed for three years for tampering with COVID-19 vaccines
June 9, 2021
A Wisconsin pharmacist who pleaded guilty to trying to spoil hundreds of doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine because he was skeptical about them has been jailed for three years, the U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday.
Steven R. Brandenburg, 46, was also ordered to pay about $83,800 in compensation to the hospital at which he worked, according to a statement on Tuesday from the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Court documents showed he purposefully removed a box of COVID-19 vaccine vials from a hospital refrigeration unit during two successive overnight shifts in December last year, the Justice Department said in its statement.
Brandenburg was skeptical of vaccines in general and the Moderna vaccine specifically, and that he communicated his beliefs to his co-workers for at least the past two years, it said.

GOP likes Mike Pence but wants Donald Trump
| June 09, 2021 11:17 AM
Republican voters overwhelmingly want the GOP to “be more like” former President Donald Trump than former Vice President Mike Pence.
But that doesn’t mean they don’t like Pence. According to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 69% said they look at him favorably.
The survey is one of the first to size up the potential 2024 race between Trump and Pence and the politics of the Republican Party.
Asked who the GOP should be most “like,” 64% chose Trump and 24% Pence.
Both have recently stepped back into the political spotlight though neither has said yet that they will run.

800 arrested across 18 countries in high-tech global organized crime sting
More than 800 people have been arrested in 18 countries in a global organized crime sting organized by the FBI and agencies, authorities said on Tuesday.
“Operation Trojan Shield is a shining example of what can be accomplished when international law enforcement partners from around the world work together and develop state-of-the-art investigative tools to detect, disrupt and dismantle transnational criminal organizations,” said Calvin Shivers, assistant director of the FBI’s criminal investigative division, at a press conference, The Associated Press reported.
The operation began after authorities were able to infiltrate an encrypted platform called ANOM and convinced criminals that it was a safe app for communication.
The FBI was reportedly able to give phones to more than 300 criminal gangs in more than 100 countries in the past year and a half, contributing to the arrests.
"We have been in the back pockets of organized crime. ... All they talk about is drugs, violence, hits on each other, innocent people who are going to be murdered,” Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw said, Reuters reported.
Approximately $148 million in cash and cryptocurrencies, 250 firearms, 55 luxury cars and 32 tons of drugs were also seized, the AP noted.
In Europe, 75 people were arrested in Sweden, more than 60 in Germany and 49 in the Netherlands, according to Reuters.
“The success of Operation Trojan Shield is a result of tremendous innovation, dedication and unprecedented international collaboration,” Shivers said. “And the results are staggering.”
There were also "numerous high-level public corruption cases in several countries" from the sting as many groups were being tipped off about police whereabouts, an FBI official said in an affidavit.
