Prosecutors in the sex-trafficking case asked a judge to conduct an inquiry Wednesday following revelations a juror used his sexual abuse past to sway deliberations. (New York Post)
“Scotty David,” his first and middle name, said in an interview he suffered sexual abuse as a child and used his own experience to not only understand the victims in Maxwell's case well, but also convince other members of the jury there are no inconsistencies in their testimonies.
A former prosecutor told The Telegraph the revelations may serve as grounds for filing a mistrial if David lied in the questionnaire all juror candidates had to fill out ahead of the selection process, specifically about a question regarding personal, sexual abuse.

Evergrande wants 6-MONTH delay for onshore repayments
Chinese property giant Evergrande is once again begging for leeway on repayments, this time asking for 6 months grace on a $156.9mn bond as it struggles to meet over $300bn of total liabilities.
"A postponement is expected," said a holder of the bonds in question on condition of anonymity. "Given the company is under pressure to prioritize wages ... and apartments."
The only reasoning Evergrande itself gave for the requested delay was the “current operational status” of Hengda, its flagship property arm that issued the bonds. Shares in the company dropped 2.5% on Tuesday.

Uranium Leap: Prices up 8% against backdrop of events in Kazakhstan/RT
The central Asian nation provides more than 40% of the world's supplies, and concerns have seen trade prices shoot up with a major threat to a key global source.
General increases on the uranium market are up more than 2%, while Kazak President Tokayev could reform policies. It's unclear for now how that will impact, but a lift on national energy price caps in the country triggered protests and days of carnage in Kazakhstan.
While energy prices doubled overnight for residents, global uranium markets have grown steadily too as the world pushes towards cleaner power.

A French court will allow a class-action suit to go ahead against pharmaceutical giant Sanofi, from families of victims of Depakine, an epilepsy drug which allegedly damages fetal development. (AFP)
The suit, initiated in 2017, alleges Sanofi didn’t inform patients about risks of birth defects and slowed development in children whose mothers were prescribed the drug during pregnancy.
In Wednesday's verdict the court ruled the lawsuit "valid,” saying Sanofi "was at fault because it failed to meet the obligation for vigilance and the obligation to inform" concerning risks of Depakine for the fetus.
