#1 Smollett withheld "critical" evidence from CPD.
Didn't give phone data,medical records or DNA. Prosecutor says phone records would have helped PD trace the "hate call" he got days earlier. Data also could help PD put together timeline of his whereabouts. Prosecutor says Smollett did not want case solved. "Smart man" who wanted hate crime reported. Argues medical records would have shown he wasn't severely beat and DNA might helped ID brothers.
#2 Overwhelming evidence attackers were African American. Smollett mislead police. "wanted" white attackers to bolster hate crime. Initially told PD attackers were white, then said light-skinned...
#3 Faked evidence- Rope was in a loop, not noose. Osundairo brother testified a car was coming so he didn't get it on Smollett's neck. Video shows Smollett walking into condo with knot in one spot...later CPD body camera shows rope is shuffled. Later told Robin Roberts in GMA that he never touched rope.
#4 He doesn't know who attacked him and he just happened to end up at intersection around 2am because he was getting eggs. Also testified there was a 9am work out next day yet no messages confirm or cancel that session and Osundairo brother testified he never worked out in person with Smollett.
#5 Medical evidence -- corroborates Osudnairo testimony that they "held" their punches. Doctor testified Smollett had "no injuries." Pictures show scrapes and bruises on Smollett's face.
#6 Smollett never signed criminal complaint against Osundairos. Victim of a hate crime didn't sign complaint. Police had brothers in custody and Smollett indicated he'd sign complaint but did not.

Apple’s Secret $275bn Deal With China (reports)
Apple CEO Tim Cook apparently greased the wheels with Beijing personally to improve Apple’s then-flagging fortunes to the tune of $275bn over five years while purposefully keeping the deal under wraps.

Cook reportedly lobbied Chinese govt officials from 2016 to improve Apple’s image among them, while agreeing to plow billions into improving Chinese tech development projects.
In return, Beijing agreed to give Apple “necessary support and assistance” in generating custom and tackling supply chain issues.

Under fire, UK PM apologises for staff joking about Christmas lockdown party
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologised on Wednesday after a video surfaced showing his staff laughing and joking about a party in Downing Street during a Christmas COVID-19 lockdown last year when such festivities were banned.
Hours later the main aide featured in the video, Johnson's press secretary at the time, Allegra Stratton, resigned as an adviser to the prime minister. In a tearful statement, she said she would regret the remarks she made in the video for the rest of her days.
or more than a week, Johnson and his team have repeated that no rules were broken in late 2020 after the Mirror newspaper reported there had been several parties including a wine-fuelled gathering of 40 to 50 people to mark Christmas.
On Wednesday, Johnson told parliament that he was furious about the video, which was first shown by ITV late on Tuesday, but said he had been repeatedly assured that no party took placeat Downing Street, his office and official residence.
Opposition Labour Party leader Keir Starmer accused Johnson of "taking the public for fools", while Ian Blackford of the Scottish National Party told Johnson to resign.
It is the latest misstep by an administration which has been criticised over its handling of a sleaze scandal, the awarding of COVID contracts, the refurbishment of Johnson's Downing Street apartment and the chaotic evacuation from Afghanistan.
Amid reports that the government could implement tougher COVID-19 measures as early as Thursday to slow the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant, news of the scandal could also discourage people from following any new rules. read more
"I apologise unreservedly for the offence that it has caused up and down the country, and I apologise for the impression that it gives," Johnson told parliament.
Disciplinary action would be taken if it was found that rules had been broken, he said.
